In alignment with Dr. Gamble’s call at this year’s convocation, the University would like an increased focus on student internship participation – so we’re calling on our alumni. Student internships are an exciting and important piece the Mercyhurst experience. We believe that these capstone experiences add considerable value to any Mercyhurst University degree by enhancing each student’s job search, career progress or pursuit of further education following graduation from Mercyhurst. Consider opening your professional setting to Mercyhurst students.
To carry out this initiative, Kyle Foust has been named the Director of the Mercyhurst Student Internship Program and will coordinate all student internships that were formerly coordinated by the Career Development Center. The Career Development Center will interact with students on all other career related matters outside of the internship program as we have known it. To contact Dr. Foust, you can reach him at (814)-824-2171 or by email at email@example.com.
In addition, the Alumni Relations office and Career Development Center will be hosting our third annual Career Networking Night for alumni and students! The event will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from 7 – 9 pm at Mercyhurst University in the Cummings Art Gallery. The career networking night is a business- casual event, where we hope our alumni will provide insight to students preparing to enter the workforce or find internship experience over the next few years. This evening will give students the chance to learn about different career fields, what to expect in an interview, and learn the value of networking and communication when it comes to job and internship interviews. We also hope this event will give alumni the chance to network with one another, catch up with friends, and share their experiences after leaving the ‘Hurst.
