Mercyhurst University recognizes four distinct groups as key groups demonstrating support for our students:
- Mercyhurst Leadership Society – this is a group of individuals who demonstrate their support for Mercyhurst with an annual gift on the leadership level. There are various membership benefits as gifts increase, and members of this exclusive society sustain the philanthropic example provided by Mercyhurst’s founders, sharing a common bond and a commitment to providing an exceptional education to Mercyhurst students.
- Friends of Mother Borgia – Supporters of Mercyhurst who have given for at least 20 consecutive years become members of the Friends of Mother Borgia society. Named after our first President and longtime dean, this society represents Mercyhurst’s most loyal supporters.
- O’Neil Society – those who have elected to made plans to include Mercyhurst in their estate or financial plans become members of the O’Neil Society. Some ways that one can join this society is by adding a bequest to their will or living trust, including Mercyhurst as a beneficiary in their retirement plan or life insurance, or a number of other options.
- Sister Carolyn Herrmann Society – the Sister Carolyn Herrmann Society is a group founded in 1961 as a ‘friend-making and fundraising group’ that served as one of the school’s very first networking groups.
