WE WANT YOU TO GIVE BACK…THROUGH YOUR TIME!
Each year, the entire month of March is devoted to highlighting Mercyhurst’s Mercy and Catholic traditions and spirit of the Sisters of Mercy. This year, our programming is centered around the value of “Compassionately Hospitable.” You can participate in our alumni service day, March 29 at the Erie VA Hospital. But you can also partake in random merciful and hospitable acts throughout the entire month of March from wherever you are in the world! And when you do, we want to hear about it! Tag us in your mercy acts at #mercymonth2014. Find out more here.
Work Place Volunteering
Coordinate a volunteer project through your place of work and get other MU alums involved across the country to start their own service projects as well. The Service Learning office is willing to offer free consultation and assistance in starting up your project. Sponsor Alternative and Experiential Service Learning Trips
Many of our students partake in a variety of service learning projects throughout the year, but are responsible to pay for their own food, shelter and travel costs. Possible examples include:
– $150 pays for one student to volunteer in a week-long Habitat for Humanity build
– $25 pays for one day of a student’s Habitat for Humanity trip over spring break
–$200 pays for a day of an international trip to Haiti or Guyana
If you are interested in sponsoring a student for one of these trips, please fill out the form below.
Participate in regional, national, or international service trips with Mercyhurst University
The University is always seeking chaperones, meal hosts or guest appearances for our service learning trips. If you often reminisce about the time you spent at Mercyhurst and your service experiences as a student, we welcome you back to experience them again! Upcoming dates are:
– Spring Break 2015 Trips: March 7-15, 2015. We are looking for suggestions on service trip destinations! Please let us know if you would like to participate in the coming school year by filling out the form below.
