During the cooler days of autumn, especially at the end of November, our thoughts turn to gratitude and thanksgiving. Our giving thanks takes on many forms, from gathering with family and friends to taking stock of the many ways in which we have been blessed throughout the past year and over the course of our life.
Certainly, one area in which I have been blessed during my life is through my association with the Mercyhurst community. As I am, I suspect that all Mercyhurst alumni are grateful for the education and formation that we received during our time at Mercyhurst. Whether we graduated fifty years ago or five years ago, each of us was privileged to receive a top notch foundation on which to build the rest of our lives and careers!
But with privilege and gratitude comes a sense of responsibility; the responsibility to ensure that those who come after us receive the same high level of excellence and are able to carry on the tradition of a Mercyhurst education and formation.
It is in this spirit of responsibility, and thanksgiving, that I encourage my fellow alumni to join me in making a donation to the Annual Fund. Better yet, commit to being a member of the 834 Club, a convenient monthly giving option. Members of the 834 Club commit to making an automatic donation of only $8.34 a month via a credit/debit card. Signing up online is easy; do it once and the rest is automatic.
For only $8.34 a month, each of us will be helping to ensure the future of Mercyhurst University. Every contribution, no matter the amount, is vital. It not only means that we believe in the mission of Mercyhurst and are grateful for it, it shows that we are invested in the future. Learn more at http://envision.mercyhurst.edu.
Wishing each of you, and your families, a happy and blessed Thanksgiving holiday.
